Margin accounts have always been financial suicide…Just call Monex and tell them you want to put everything on margin they will gladly assist you and even tell you how much money you can be making trading on margin, but if the market slips even a little you are screwed. You will be a formerly wealthy person like me. NEVER BUY ON MARGIN AND NEVER TRUST MONEX!!

@ChubbeeChao really? digression of electronics? aside from the fact that back then video cameras were NOT electronic and manually handcranked 16mm or 35mm film passing through the light filtered/focused by an optical lens.
these cameras were huge, heavy, blured images without a tripod, had no sound recording, film was tedious to edit, frame rates varied and there was no colour!
its been a real steady progression if you ask me.

“The stock market crash had nothing to do with the Great Depression that followed.” Let’s see, after the market bubble popped credit dried up; bank reserves dried up; depositors couldn’t withdraw from accounts; businesses and farms failed due to lack of credit or access to funds. What an idiotic notion… and still there are those who will tell you that today; no connection between Wall Street and Main Street… God help us!

@yougoobr it goes to the traders when there is a rapid decline in a stock or share /witch ever you trading in every one panicks and shorts the stock meaning borrow then sell for the high price and buy back when it crashes and return to company at the lower price either way they make money.at this point when every one shorts it causes prssure on the stock causing it to deline more but then everyone starts to sell it reverses causing the stock to up. and you know the rest..

It was more of an avalanche — stocks plummeting faster and faster, more and more people wanting out. All of a sudden — the avalanche gains momentum, and nothing can stop it; people just wanted OUT! But in the end — it was too little, too late.

The video doesn’t tell you what caused the Great Depression, there was a boom in the stock market fueled by enlarged money supply initiated by the Federal Reserve, what broke the bubble is when the Fed couldn’t maintain inflation, and had no choice but to contract the money supply. There was also other international influences too at play in the Great Depression. This video makes it seem like, one day, people woke, and decided to be stock market players, and just randomly happened. Lies…

This video doesn’t mention that the Great Depression was caused by a credit expansion by the Federal Reserve. The Fed was expanded the money supply, and created inflation. Hence why shoe shiners giving stock tips much like the NASDAQ bubble where unsophisticated people quit their jobs to become a full time stock traders. 2007-08 was a result of Alan Greenspan lowering interest rates to around 1% for a long time, and bored retirees started to get into real estate on cheap money, inflation.

Roger Ward Babson’s warning that a crash was coming (and it may be terrific!) came on September 5, 1929. By the end of that day, stocks had fallen a full 3% below what they had been when the day first started! This is what became known as the Babson Break.
